Today’s presentation in class really sums up what we have been talking about so far in FNED. Everyone had different ideas about diversity and media which really opened up my eyes to see what other people saw. What I took out of these presentations was that although people portray different media ideas differently, when you really analysis things, it shows that the media has some unfair understandings. I feel after doing this project that kids should know about stereotypes, racism and gayness at such a young age because they really do understand these types of things and they base mostly everything that they do on what they see. Working on this project helped me in understanding what really goes on in today’s world. I also realized that being a child molds you into what media portrays as being a perfect person. In the project that I worked on in my group there was a dove video and the girl in the beginning was just a regular girl no makeup and has no be exposed to the media and by the end of the video she has makeup on, dressed like what celebrities wear. This is a good example of what media portrays people as. I am glad that I got to experience this project because this really opened up my eyes.
